The Venue
The IP-SPALC will take place at the Universityof Rome“Foro Italico”, which is the City’s 4th State university and the only Italian and one of the few European vocational universities entirely devoted to sport and exercise science. The University is the direct heir of the Italian Sport Academy, established in 1928, and it is located in the monumental area of “Foro Italico” in Rome, where are placed some of the City’s most famous sport structures.
The IP-SPALC course will take place in P.zza Lauro de Bosis, 15, Room “Aula Consiliare Giulio Marinozzi”. Entrance to the room is through the garden “Giardino del Cinghiale” on the right of the obelisk.
Accomodation
During the programme students and lectures will stay at the Hotel Farnesina located near the Foro Italico, the Olympic Stadium and the Parco della Musica Auditorium. At just a few steps from the Farnesina, one can find the antiqueMilvianBridge, better known as the “BridgeofLove” a meeting point for the new Roman nightlife. Transportation from the airport to the hotel
From Fiumicino Airport: go to the train station (“Railway”, with a FS symbol on it); take the line Leonardo Express (every 20 minutes) to Termini Station; take the Metro A (red line) line (direction Battistini) and get off at Flaminio/Piazza del Popolo stop. From Flaminio/Piazza del Popolo stop take Tram #2 (direction Mancini) and get off at the Pinturicchio stop; go by foot to Via della Farnesina #23
From Ciampino Airport: go to the bus station in front of the exit (Atral Shuttle Bus), takes the bus to Termini Station (times: 6,37 – 09,27 – 09,52 – 10,27 – 12,00 – 12,47 – 13,47 – 14,52 – 15,47 – 16,27 – 18,18 19,12 – 20,18 – 20,57 – 23,45); take the Metro A (red line) line (direction Battistini) and get off at Flaminio/Piazza del Popolo stop. From Flaminio/Piazza del Popolo stop take Tram #2 (direction Mancini) and get off at the Pinturicchio stop; go by foot to Via della Farnesina #23
If you want to reach the IP SPALC venue, on Tram #2 get off at the last stop (Mancini). Cross the bridge Ponte Duca d’Aosta; the University is right in front of you.
